Fireweed Dance Theatre

Fireweed Dance Theatre was organized in 2001 as a way for extremely dedicated students at Sitka Studio of Dance to experience new choreography and performance opportunities. Born under the umbrella of Fireweed Dance Guild, the company is non-profit and everyone who works for the company is a volunteer.

Dancers go through a traditional audition process in September that one would go through at any dance company. Over the following months, the dancers work with choreographers to learn pieces for our Annual Spring Gala which is always the first weekend in March.

Fireweed Dance Theatre also performs at other community events, including basketball games and occasionally Monthly Grinds.

Aurora Dance Ensemble

Aurora Dance Ensemble was created in 2012 to give younger students the company experience.
